Learning about Lewis Library

Online access – wired, wireless, off-campus

As a UNTHSC student, you have access to our online information resources anytime and anywhere. In the Library, we have wired network connections available on Levels 2 and 4, and wireless access throughout the building. If something is not working, see the Problems with Online Access page.

Printing, Copying, Scanning

Lewis Library provides self-service equipment for printing, copying, and scanning on each level of the Library and at several other locations on the campus. See Printing, Copying, and Scanning for details.

UNTHSC Scholarly Repository

The Scholarly Repository is the database where your thesis or dissertation will be deposited and housed in perpetuity by the University. The instructions for filing your thesis or dissertation with the repository are located here.

The Scholarly Repository also showcases other intellectual works of UNTHSC faculty members and students. In addition to theses and dissertations, students may submit other significant works such as research posters and conference papers. There is no charge for this service, and authors receive monthly reports on usage.

Student Library Advisory Council

This group of student volunteers serves as a formal communication channel between UNTHSC students and Lewis Library. The goal of the Council is to help the Library provide UNTHSC students with the best possible service. It provides:

an opportunity for students to seek answers to specific questions;
a forum for students to give input on library services, space, and resources; and
a mechanism for the library to communicate information, advocate for library issues, and seek assistance from students with regard to ongoing issues or projects.

The SLAC consists of at least two students from each UNTHSC school and two representatives of Lewis Library. Members are appointed in September for a one-year term. The Lewis Library Director works with the heads of student government organizations to identify prospective members. To nominate yourself, contact the Library Director's office (817-735-2380, LIB-222).

Meetings are held twice per year over lunch. Additional meetings will be held on an as-needed basis. Other UNTHSC students and employees may be invited to attend.
