Getting Help With Your Research

There are a number of ways you can learn how to use Lewis Library's resources effectively.  Scheduled classes are held a few times per month, but learning doesn't begin and end there -- you can request help anytime.  During weekday hours, visit or call the Reference Office (LIB-222, 817-735-2070) to get help with tasks such as selecting a database to search, finding cited books or journals, or identifying subject terms.  No matter what the hour, you can use the Ask a Librarian form on this website to submit a question, and a librarian will respond by the next business day.

If you want advanced training on a particular literature database or on RefWorks, our reference management tool, then you can request a meeting with one of our Instruction Librarians that is tailored to your needs.  If you are assigned a group project that includes research, this can be a great way to get everyone up to speed and to develop a work plan.  Call or visit the Reference Office to schedule a time and let us know what kind of help you need.

Finally, if you prefer self-service, our website is the place to start.
