Instructional Sessions Online
Lewis Library is pleased to announce an exciting new service for remote instruction! Using new software, called GoToMeeting, our classes are now much easier and convenient to attend for those students who live outside the Dallas-Fort Worth area. With GoToMeeting, Lewis Librarians are able to remotely meet with and teach users in interactive sessions via the Web, including communication via chat and/or a conference telephone call. Please contact Dan Burgard to schedule an appointment for a remote instructional session, or call the Lewis Library Reference Office for additional information (800-687-5302).

Library Instructional Goals
Lewis Library offers a wide array of classes to the students, staff, and faculty of the UNT Health Science Center. Students and researchers striving to maintain current information seeking and technology skills are the target of our instructional program. We seek to develop information literate health professionals--individuals who can assess their information needs, effectively choose and evaluate resources, and ethically use the information they retrieve.
Our classes cover a variety of topics, including database and online catalog searching, software usage, and finding resources on the World Wide Web. Individualized training sessions can be developed and taught as needed.

Requesting a Library Class
Do your students or staff need to know how to:
- get articles from the library?
- find articles on a particular topic?
- do literature reviews?
- search MEDLINE or other databases?
- find targeted clinical information?
- choose and use a handheld computer (PDA)?
- find statistical data?
- format citations using the APA or MLA style?
Library faculty are available to teach these and other topics to UNTHSC students, staff, and residents. Faculty are encouraged to integrate information literacy into their course schedules. Instructional librarians can tailor classes to students' specific needs.
